Gold Futures Extend Gains on Global Price Recovery
Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives rose for a second consecutive day, following the global gold price recovery. The September 2026 contract closed at $4,477.50 per troy ounce, up from yesterday's $4,447.70.
Quintex Intel global strategist Stephen Innes said gold prices are holding on to recent gains ahead of the United States nonfarm payrolls report, which is due today. Investors anticipate a result that won't prompt the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates this month, while US Treasury yields remain steady.
The October 2026 contract increased to $4,491.30 per troy ounce, and other contracts also rose, including the November 2026 contract at $4,509.70 and the December 2026 contract at $4,517.50.
