Gold futures prices rose on Thursday in India, supported by strong demand and fresh positions created by speculators. The gold contract for October delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) gained Rs 231 to trade at Rs 1,53,994 per 10 grams.

The rise was attributed to firm spot demand for the precious metal in the domestic market, as well as fresh positions taken by participants amid this demand. The international gold futures also rose, increasing by 0.47% to USD 4,419.57 per ounce in New York.
