Gold Hits One-Month High as Dollar Weakens
Gold prices surged to a one-month high on Wednesday, rising for a third consecutive session. The precious metal hit $4,175.53 per ounce, its highest level since July 7, as a softer dollar and lower oil prices boosted investor sentiment.
The US dollar's decline helped gold prices climb, while investors awaited US jobs data to gauge the interest-rate outlook. Spot silver also gained ground, rising 3.8% to $61.76 per ounce, while platinum climbed 2.6% to $1,779.25, its highest level since mid-June.
Palladium, another precious metal, rose 2.6% to $1,389.15 after hitting a two-month high. US gold futures also increased by 2%, reaching $4,235.30.
