Gold Mining Stocks Shine Despite $4,000 Price Tag
Gold mining stocks have gained attention in the US market as gold prices remain above $4,000 an ounce. Spot gold fell 0.8% to $4,145.68 on October 2 and was heading for a weekly loss of about 3.3%, according to Reuters.
Newmont (NEM) is one of the largest gold producers available to US investors, reporting approximately 1.3 million attributable gold ounces in the second quarter of 2026. The company's size gives investors exposure to a broad portfolio of mining operations, reducing the impact of problems at an individual operation.
Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) is another major gold producer with a US-listed stock and a large portfolio of mining assets. Franco-Nevada (FNV) operates primarily through royalty and streaming agreements, reducing direct operating risks associated with traditional mining companies.
Barrick Mining (B) and Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) are also major gold producers being watched by investors in the US market.
