The gold price is currently trading around $4,371 after experiencing highs of $4,402 and lows of $4,365. The chart shows a decline from its late-August peak near $4,650, $4,700.

Gold has been in a short-term range between approximately $4,300 and $4,450. Buyers have repeatedly appeared around the lower area, but rebounds have struggled to produce sustained higher highs.

The 200-day average is significantly higher at approximately $4,541. Gold trading below this line keeps the broader technical picture under pressure. A recovery toward $4,500, $4,540 would run directly into a major technical test.
