Gold Price Surges to New High in Bangladesh Amid Rising Pure Gold Costs
The price of gold in Bangladesh has reached a fresh peak after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) raised it by Tk9,856 per bhori. The new price of 22-karat gold is now Tk232,930 per bhori, including VAT, effective from 10am on August 6.
This increase follows a previous adjustment made on July 31, when the price of 22-karat gold was raised by Tk2,216 per bhori to Tk223,074, including VAT. With this revision, the price of gold has been adjusted 98 times so far this year in the domestic market.
The association said the decision was taken in line with the rising price of pure gold in the local market. The revised prices will remain effective at all jewellery outlets until further notice, Bajus added.
