The price of gold in India declined by nearly 0.12% on September 24 in the domestic futures market, following reports of fresh talks between the US and Iran.

According to MCX data, the Gold 5 October futures stood at ₹151,071 per 10 grams, while the Silver 4 December contracts were down 0.53% at ₹234,650 per kg.

The US-Iran conflict has been ongoing for nearly seven months, with officials from Tehran and Washington holding indirect talks through mediators on Tuesday.

In the retail market, gold is sold in 24-karat and 22-karat purity, with prices varying across major Indian cities. For example, in Mumbai, 24-karat gold was priced at ₹151,380/10 grams, while 22-karat gold was priced at ₹138,765/10 grams.

Silver prices today are at ₹234,340/kg (Silver 999 Fine) according to the Indian Bullion Association's data. Customers must note that jewellers may add making charges, taxes, and GST to the bill, which could hike the final price of the item.
