Gold Prices Drop Amid West Asia Tensions
Gold prices in India have decreased slightly today, September 26, 2026. The price of 24K gold stands at Rs 15,268 per gram, down from Rs 15,284 yesterday. This represents a decrease of Rs 16 over the previous day's price. Similarly, the price of 22K and 18K gold currently stands at Rs 13,995 per gram and Rs 11,451 per gram for 18 carat gold, marking a decrease of Rs 15 and Rs 12 respectively.
The current prices are as follows: 24 Carat - Rs 15,268 per 10 grams, 22 Carat - Rs 13,995 per 10 grams, and 18 Carat - Rs 11,451 per 10 grams. City-wise rates also show a decrease in gold prices across various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Vadodara, Ahmedabad.
The decline in gold prices can be attributed to the ongoing tensions in West Asia, particularly between Iran and the United States. The recent escalation of hostilities has led to a surge in global fuel costs, with U.S. diesel prices reaching a record $6.50 per gallon on Friday. This has triggered a safe-haven rally, driving domestic gold prices sharply higher alongside international spot benchmarks.
