Gold Prices Hold Steady on September 21 Amid Festive Demand
The prices of gold and silver in India remained steady on September 21, despite fluctuations in global markets. Gold is predominantly traded in two purities - 24-karat and 22-karat - with 24-karat considered the purest form but less durable due to its lack of alloyed metals.
Gold prices in India are influenced by multiple factors, including international gold rates, US dollar exchange rates, and domestic jewellery demand, particularly during festivals. The retail market sees gold priced at ₹1,54,420 for 24-karat and ₹1,41,552 for 22-karat per 10 grams in Delhi.
Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds both quoted ₹14,285 per gram across major Indian states for 22-karat gold. Tanishq's 22K gold rate stood at ₹14,330 per gram, while Malabar's 24-carat gold rate is ₹15,584 per gram.
