Gold Prices in Bangladesh Reduced by BAJUS on September 26

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced a reduction in gold prices in the local bullion market on September 26, 2026. The new prices took effect starting that day. According to BAJUS, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 1,691 taka, from the previous price of 2,34,621 taka to the new price of 2,32,930 taka. Similarly, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 1,574 taka, from the previous price of 2,24,065 taka to the new price of 2,22,491 taka. The price of 18-carat gold per bhori has also been reduced by 1,341 taka.

For reference, 1 bhori is equivalent to 11.664 grams. BAJUS also specified that buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to a 5% VAT added for selling gold ornaments and a minimum making charge of BDT 3,500 per 'bhori'.
