Gold Prices Plummet Across Most India Markets Ahead of Independence Day
Gold prices declined across most major bullion markets in India on Friday, just before Independence Day. The exception was Chennai, where gold prices rose by Rs 200 to Rs 220 per 10 grams during early trading.
The decline in gold prices was widespread, with most markets seeing a drop of around Rs 1,170 per 10 grams. In Delhi, for example, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,53,740 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,40,940 per 10 grams.
The prices of silver remained unchanged across all markets. The precious metal continued to trade at Rs 2,54,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
