Gold Prices Plummet Amid Booking of Profits and Favourable US Inflation Data

The prices of gold and silver became volatile on Thursday, August 13, 2026, amid some booking of profits following the gains seen in precious metal prices in the past couple of days.

Gold for October delivery on India's domestic futures market fell below the level of ₹1.54 lakh, while September delivery of silver witnessed a steep fall.

The MCX gold lost ₹1,289 or 0.83% to ₹1,53,593 per 10 grams and touched an intra-day low of ₹1,53,535.

Meanwhile, the MCX Silver settled at ₹2,35,217 per kg lower by ₹2,618 or 1.10% and touched ₹2,35,000.
