Gold Prices Plummet by Over Rs3,700 Per Tola in Pakistan
Gold prices have plummeted in Pakistan by over Rs3,700 per tola following a decline in international bullion markets. The price of one tola of gold has dropped to Rs426,736 according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA). This marks a sharp decrease from previous rates, with 10 grams of gold also falling by Rs3,202 to Rs365,857.
The decline in local gold prices is closely linked to movements in global markets as well as fluctuations in the exchange rate between the Pakistani rupee and the US dollar. Market analysts note that gold prices remain sensitive to international economic data, inflation expectations, and interest rate outlooks.
Jewellers expect lower prices to boost consumer demand, particularly from buyers planning wedding purchases or long-term investments. However, traders caution that gold prices may continue to fluctuate in response to developments in international markets.
