Gold Prices Plummet in Bangladesh as BAJUS Implements New Rates

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a significant reduction in gold and silver prices across various categories. The decision was made at a meeting of BAJUS's Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring, held on Monday morning. The new prices came into effect from 10 am on the same day.

The price of 22-carat gold jewellery has been reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori, including VAT. A bhori weighs 11.664 grams. Under the revised structure, a bhori of 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 230,772, down from Tk 232,930.

The prices of other categories also saw a decrease. The new price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 220,391 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will sell for Tk 189,248 per bhori. Gold sold under the traditional method has been priced at Tk 154,256 per bhori.

The price of silver also saw a reduction. Under the revised rates, 22-carat silver will cost Tk 4,491 per bhori, while 21-carat silver will be priced at Tk 4,316. The price of 18-carat silver has been set at Tk 3,732 per bhori, and silver sold under the traditional method will cost Tk 2,799 per bhori.
