The gold price in India has been fluctuating due to various market factors. As of September 16, 2026, the gold prices stood at ₹15,316 per gram for 24K gold, ₹14,039 for 22K gold, and ₹11,487 for 18K gold. These prices are indicative and exclude GST, making charges, TCS, and other applicable costs.

The global market has been affected by the strengthening of the US dollar and rising Treasury yields, which have put pressure on the gold price. According to Reuters, spot gold lost 0.1% to reach $4,293.29 per ounce on September 15, while US gold futures declined 0.4% to $4,332.80 per ounce.

The domestic market has also been affected by the Federal Reserve's policy announcement, which added volatility to the gold price. The MCX gold fell under selling pressure towards the end of August and experienced periodic volatility during the 11-15 September period.
