Gold Prices Plummet in Iraq's Baghdad and Erbil Markets
Gold prices in Baghdad and Erbil markets have seen a slight decrease. On Sunday, gold hovered around 940,000 IQD per mithqal (equivalent to five grams) for 21-carat varieties, including Gulf, Turkish, and European types. In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street market, the selling price of 21-carat gold was recorded at 938,000 IQD, while the buying price stood at 934,000 IQD.
The same gold had sold for 945,000 IQD on Saturday, indicating a decrease in prices. The selling price for 21-carat Iraqi gold was 908,000 IQD, with a buying price of 904,000 IQD. Jewelry stores also saw fluctuations in prices, ranging from 940,000 to 950,000 IQD per mithqal for 21-carat Gulf gold and between 910,000 and 920,000 IQD for Iraqi gold.
In Erbil, 22-carat gold was sold at 981,000 IQD per mithqal, 21-carat gold at 937,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 803,000 IQD. These prices reflect the current market trends in Baghdad and Erbil.
