Gold prices in India rose nearly 0.65% on September 16 as uncertainty over the US-Iran conflict continued to fuel safe-haven demand.

The MCX Gold 5 October futures were trading at ₹151,785 per 10 grams, while MCX Silver 4 December contracts were up 1.33% at ₹235,200 per kg around 9:04 am on Wednesday.

In the retail market, gold is sold in 24-karat and 22-karat purity, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹152,330/10 grams and 22-carat gold priced at ₹139,636/10 grams on September 16.

The rise in gold prices comes after a nearly 2% fall on Tuesday, tracking weak global cues. Silver prices have seen even steeper increases due to strong demand and currency fluctuations.
