Gold prices surged across major Indian cities on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association's (IBJA) indicative retail selling prices of gold saw a sharp rise, with 22-karat gold jewellery prices increasing at leading jewellery brands including Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kalyan Jewellers, and Joyalukkas.

The price hike is attributed to the global market trends, where hopes grew for a diplomatic breakthrough between the US and Iran, easing oil-price pressure and reducing pressure on central banks. According to Mr. Prithviraj Kothari, managing director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., president of IBJA, gold broke above $4200 and silver neared $63.

The current price for 22k gold jewellery across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Trivandrum is as follows:

Tanishq: Rs 13,770 per gram

Malabar Gold & Diamonds: Rs 13,725 per gram

Kalyan Jewellers: Rs 13,725 per gram

Joyalukkas: Rs 13,725 per gram
