Gold Prices Soar in Bangladesh as BAJUS Raises Rates by Up to Tk 2,158

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices in domestic markets by up to Tk 2,158 per bhori, including VAT. The new rates came into effect at 10am on Saturday, August 15, following a meeting of BAJUS's Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring. A bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold now costs Tk 236,779 including VAT, up from Tk 234,621 previously.

Other variants of gold have also seen price increases: 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk 226,165 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 194,206. Traditional-method gold has been fixed at Tk 158,630 per bhori. Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged.
