Gold Prices Soar in Pakistan Amid Global Market Surge
Pakistan's gold prices surged on Friday as international market rates continued to climb. The local gold rate jumped by Rs3,900 per tola to Rs469,136, while the price of 10 grams increased by Rs3,344 to Rs402,208.
The global gold market saw a significant increase, with the international price rising by $39 per ounce to reach $4,466. The rise was attributed to weak US economic data and expectations that the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates.
The increase in gold prices has been driven by its traditional role as a safe-haven investment. Its value tends to rise during periods of inflation, political uncertainty, and economic instability.
