Gold Prices Soar to New Heights in Pakistan
Gold prices continued their upward trend in both international and local markets on August 12. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs4,200, reaching a new high of Rs463,936. This surge is attributed to the global market trend, which saw the price of gold increase by $42 per ounce to reach $4,415 per ounce.
In the local market, the price of 10 grams of gold also rose by Rs3,601 to Rs397,750. Silver prices witnessed gains as well, with the price of silver per tola increasing by Rs146 to Rs7,111, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs125 to Rs6,096.
This marks a significant increase from previous days, where gold prices had risen by Rs2,400 per tola and Rs2,058 for 10 grams on August 11. The local price of gold per tola also climbed Rs800 during the day on Tuesday, closing at Rs457,366, with 10 grams quoted at Rs392,091.
