Gold Prices Steady Ahead of US Economic Data but Remain Near Seven-Week Low
Gold prices have steadied ahead of US economic data releases, but remain at their lowest level in over seven weeks. This is due to concerns that the Federal Reserve may keep interest rates higher for longer. On September 29th, spot gold was little changed at $4,124.57 per ounce.
US gold futures also fell by 0.3% to $4,156.70. Other metals such as silver, platinum, and palladium have also declined in value. Spot silver fell 0.6% to $60.62, platinum slipped 1% at $1,699.86, and palladium lost 0.5% to $1,209.08.
