The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices again in the country's market. The price of 22-carat gold has risen by Tk1,691 per bhori to Tk2,34,621, including VAT. This adjustment comes after BAJUS last raised gold prices on September 12th by Tk1,050 per bhori.

The new prices will be effective from 10am today (September 19th) and will remain in place until further notice at all jewellery shops. Labour charges may apply depending on the design of the jewellery. It's worth noting that VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver jewellery, so jewellers cannot collect it separately from customers.

The prices for other types of gold have also been adjusted. 21-carat gold now stands at Tk2,24,065 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk1,92,398 per bhori. Traditional-method gold costs Tk1,57,172 per bhori.
