Gold Prices Surge Amid Hopes of Middle East Peace

Gold prices in India rose on August 7 due to hopes of peace in the Middle East. The price of gold in the international market also reached a seven-week high, with spot gold up 0.4% at $4,254.11 per ounce.

The MCX gold rate was trading 0.26% higher at ₹149,490 per 10 grams. Silver prices also rose in the domestic bullion market, with MCX silver futures trading about 0.90% higher at ₹228,660 per kg.

In the retail market, the 24-karat gold rate was ₹149,020/10 gm in New Delhi, ₹149,280/10 gm in Mumbai, and ₹149,400/10 gm in Bengaluru. The 22-karat gold rate was lower at ₹136,602/10 gm in New Delhi, ₹136,840/10 gm in Mumbai, and ₹136,950/10 gm in Bengaluru.
