Gold Prices Surge to Highest Level Since May 15 Amid Dollar Weakness
Gold prices rose on Monday to their highest level since May 15, reaching $4,654.20 an ounce after gaining more than 5% last week.
The increase is attributed to a weaker dollar and investor anticipation of U.S. inflation data and a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole Symposium this week.
Investors are focusing on Wednesday's release of July core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index data, which serves as the Fed's preferred inflation gauge.
