Gold Prices Tumble in India as Domestic Demand Fades
Gold prices in India continued to decline on July 25, as subdued domestic demand weighed heavily on the precious metal. The rates dropped across major cities, extending recent weakness in the market.
The price of 24 carat gold in Delhi stood at Rs 1,44,470 per 10 grams, while 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 1,32,440 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, 24 carat gold was available at Rs 1,44,320 per 10 grams, with 22 carat gold selling for Rs 1,32,290 per 10 grams.
The trend in silver prices was also down, with the metal trading at Rs 2,34,900 per kilogram. However, global factors like steady international gold prices and Brent crude oil trading below USD 100 per barrel offered some support.
