Gold Soars to ₹1.52 Lakh, Silver Hits ₹2.35 Lakh Amid Rising Demand

India's gold and silver prices have continued to rise, with gold becoming more expensive by ₹130 per 10 grams of 24-carat gold. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of gold increased to ₹1.52 lakh. Meanwhile, one kilogram of silver rose by ₹2,366, reaching ₹2.35 lakh.

This surge in prices marks a significant increase for both gold and silver this year. Gold has become ₹19,000 more expensive so far in 2026 compared to last year's prices. On December 31st, 2025, the price of 10 grams of gold was ₹1.33 lakh, which has now risen to ₹1.52 lakh.

The price of silver also saw a significant increase from ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram on December 31st, 2025, to its current rate of ₹2.35 lakh. Anindya Banerjee, Senior Vice-President and Head of Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, believes that gold has the support of ordinary investors as well as central banks around the world, such as the RBI, which are continuously buying gold.
