Norway's Oil Production Sees Modest Rebound in August
Norway's crude oil production experienced a significant rebound in August, exceeding the Norwegian Offshore Directorate's forecast and increasing by 98,000 barrels per day from July. However, total liquids output still trailed last year's levels, falling 4% short of August 2025's production.
The improvement suggests that part of July's decline was temporary, as planned maintenance and operational stoppages across individual fields can greatly impact Norwegian offshore output. Despite this, crude oil production in August averaged 1.882 million barrels per day, outperforming the forecast by 79,000 barrels per day.
Natural gas production, on the other hand, declined by 9.7 million cubic meters per day from July and was 6.6 million cubic meters per day below the Directorate's forecast. Nevertheless, it remained higher than August 2025's output, rising to 342 million standard cubic meters per day.
