Gold Soars to New Heights as India's Precious Metals Rally Continues
India's gold and silver prices have been on a strong upward trend over the past year, with gold gaining 56.76% and silver surging by an impressive 109.54%. On August 18, gold and silver prices continued to rise, with both precious metals maintaining their momentum.
The current rates show that 24K gold is priced at Rs 1,56,210 per 10 grams, while 22K gold stands at Rs 1,43,193 per 10 grams. Similarly, silver 999 fine is valued at Rs 2,39,110 per kg, and silver 925 sterling at Rs 2,21,177 per kg.
Interestingly, the rates vary across major metro cities in India. Chennai reported the highest gold price at Rs 1,56,380 per 10 grams and the highest silver rate at Rs 2,39,370 per kg. Delhi had the lowest 24K gold price at Rs 1,55,660 per 10 grams.
Investors and buyers are closely tracking these rates as gold and silver remain in focus. The elevated prices of precious metals have resulted in a strong rally over the past year, with retail jewellery prices potentially varying further due to making charges, GST, and jeweller-specific costs.
