Grain Futures Markets See Mixed Results Amid Dollar Strength
Grain futures markets saw mixed results on September 29, 2026. Corn futures for December fell by just 1 cent to $5.22, remaining near its mid-range value. In contrast, November soybeans rose by 9 1/2 cents to $12.97 3/4, reaching the daily high.
The soybean and meal markets experienced some short covering after recent losses. However, December soybean oil gained significantly, increasing by 70 points to 68.36 cents near the daily high.
Wheat futures saw some movement as well. December SRW rose by 4 cents to $6.92 3/4, reaching a five-week low early in the session. Conversely, December HRW fell by 2 3/4 cents to $7.43, hitting a six-week low.
Cotton futures took a significant hit, falling by the daily trading limit of 400 points to 78.86 and hitting a nine-week low. The U.S. dollar index reached a three-month high, contributing to this decline.
