Grain Prices Defy Seasonal Trends as Global Demand Surges
Grain prices are experiencing an unusual surge heading into harvest, with corn up about $1.50 from its June low and soybeans having gained nearly $3.
Terrain grain and oilseed analyst Bree Baatz attributes the rally to strong global demand and a tightening global stocks-to-use ratio, particularly in U.S. exports.
Baatz notes that China's return to the U.S. market after last year's absence is also supporting soybean prices.
Producers are advised to take a serious look at current prices, as the same geopolitical headlines driving the market higher could reverse quickly.
