Grains and Livestock Futures Markets See Mixed Movements on Friday
The grains and livestock futures markets are experiencing mixed movements on Friday, August 7. December corn has seen a price increase of 4 1/4 cents per bushel, while November soybeans have risen by 2 3/4 cents. In contrast, October live cattle have gained $1.08, reaching a price of $226. However, October lean hogs are down $0.03 at $81.7.
The USDA reported private exporters' sales activity, with 238,000 metric tons (8.7 million bushels) of soybeans sold to China for the 2026/2027 marketing year and 286,097 metric tons (11.3 million bushels) of corn sold to Mexico, including 29,808 metric tons (1.2 million bushels) for 2026/2027 and 256,289 metric tons (10.1 million bushels) for the 2027/2028 marketing year.
The fed cash cattle market has seen limited activity, with Northern dressed cattle marked at $370, a $3 increase from last week's weighted average. Southern live cattle have traded at mostly $235, which is $2 higher than last week's weighted average.
