Greece Sees Fuel Prices Soar Amid Global Oil Price Surge
The fuel prices in Greece have hit new highs, with unleaded gasoline averaging at €2.20 per liter and diesel reaching €2.21 per liter.
The average price of unleaded gasoline has been steadily increasing, but the price of diesel has surpassed it for the first time since the beginning of the year.
Fuel prices are influenced by international oil prices, which have seen a recent surge with Brent crude trading above $101 per barrel and U.S. crude oil reaching $96.82 per barrel.
The Greek government is expected to announce its support plan for households and businesses later this week, ahead of the start of heating oil sales on October 15.
