Hindustan Copper Maintains Production Targets Amid Favourable Copper Prices
Hindustan Copper's strong first quarter performance has set the tone for the rest of the year, with higher copper prices and healthy production supporting its financials. Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Mishra said the company is targeting around 32,000 tonnes of metal-in-concentrate (MIC) production for the current year, up from 27,000 tonnes last year.
The company is maintaining its broader production targets and expects the current favourable copper price environment to support profitability. Mishra noted that Hindustan Copper is focusing on speeding up project execution and improving mine development to support its longer-term production ambitions.
Hindustan Copper reported revenue of ₹937 crore, profit after tax of ₹352 crore, and an EBITDA margin of 54.30% in the April-June quarter (Q1FY27). The company's stock has gained more than 126% over the past year, with a current market capitalisation of ₹52,552.92 crore.
Mishra said Hindustan Copper is targeting an EBITDA margin of around 54-55% for the year and believes that the favourable copper price environment will support profitability. The company's focus on project execution and mine development will be key to achieving its longer-term production targets, including a planned increase in ore production to 4.71 lakh tonnes.
