Houthi Attacks Push Oil Prices Above $99 as US-Iran Tensions Rise
The conflict in the Middle East escalated on Tuesday, pushing oil prices to nearly $100 per barrel. The Houthi militia targeted energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, resulting in 73 civilian injuries.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks, warning that they could have severe consequences for innocent civilians and maritime navigation. The ministry urged an immediate halt to all forms of escalation carried out by the Houthi militia.
US Senator Marco Rubio stated that the Trump administration is closely monitoring the situation, saying 'The Houthis, in many ways, are agents and proxies of the Iranians. I think behind some of this is clearly the Iranian hand.'
