Houthi Militia Targets Aramco Oil Facilities in Saudi Arabia
The Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen has claimed responsibility for attacking two oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, using drones and ballistic missiles. The targets belonged to Aramco, a key player in the country's oil industry, with one site located in Riyadh and the other in the Khurais area.
No independent confirmation of the attacks has been received from Aramco so far, but the Houthi spokesperson attributed the shelling to previous Saudi-led strikes on Sanaa and several provinces. The spokesperson also mentioned that the aim is to prevent oil tankers from passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The war in Yemen continues to escalate, with both sides engaging in intense battles. The Houthi militia has been targeting Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure, putting pressure on the government in Riyadh. This latest attack comes as part of a broader strategy to hinder the kingdom's exports and limit its economic influence.
