Houthi Rebels Target Saudi Capital with Ballistic Missile

Saudi Arabia has confirmed that Yemen's Houthi rebels attempted to attack its capital, Riyadh, with a ballistic missile. The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis made this statement late Saturday, long after the morning attempt was made.

The coalition claimed that the missile was intercepted, and it was the first attack targeting Riyadh since the escalation in fighting between the Iran-backed Houthis and Yemeni government forces backed by the Saudis.

The Houthi rebels had earlier claimed to have targeted 'sensitive sites' in Riyadh and facilities of Saudi oil giant Aramco in Yanbu, causing 'massive fires'. However, Aramco did not respond to a request for comment on this claim.
