Houthis Escalate Attacks on Saudi Airports and Aramco Facilities
Yemen’s Houthi group announced on Monday that it is actively targeting Saudi airports and Aramco oil facilities with drones and ballistic missiles. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree described the attacks as retaliation for the Saudi-led blockade and recent airstrikes on Yemen, including the capital Sanaa.
Saudi officials reported that fighter jets conducted hundreds of airstrikes across Yemen on Monday. These strikes accompanied a ground offensive by the internationally recognized Yemeni government, aimed at reclaiming territories lost to the Houthis in southwestern Yemen and along the Red Sea coast.
The escalation in Saudi airstrikes has coincided with an increase in Houthi missile and drone attacks on the kingdom. The group’s spokesperson emphasized that the attacks are a direct response to Saudi military actions in Yemen.
