Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Refinery Amid Hormuz Standoff

The Iran-aligned Houthis have claimed responsibility for an attack on a Saudi oil refinery in south-west Saudi Arabia. The attack came after Iran said it would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the US corrected its behavior.

Iran's supreme national security council made this demand, stating that the US must never threaten Iran again and permanently end the war with Tehran and its allies in the region.

The Houthis used a drone to target Aramco's Jazan refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The Saudi energy ministry said a fire had broken out at the refinery but was later extinguished with no injuries.
