Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Tanker in Red Sea

The Yemeni Houthi armed group has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Saudi oil tanker, the Amzan, in the Red Sea. The strike targeted the vessel off the coast of Yanbu, which is Saudi Arabia's main Red Sea oil port.

A Houthi military spokesperson stated that the Amzan was hit with a ballistic missile. Bahri, the owner of the tanker, confirmed the incident and assured that all crew members were safe, with no injuries reported.

The Houthis have been actively targeting Saudi assets in recent weeks, killing seven people at a Yemeni port and striking an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia. This attack is seen as part of Iran's strategy to limit global energy supplies and pressure the US to halt hostilities.
