Houthis Strike Second Saudi Oil Tanker in Day as Maritime Tensions Escalate

The Houthi group in Yemen claimed responsibility for striking a Saudi oil tanker called Daisy in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday, citing it as part of their maritime blockade strategy. This comes after they also claimed to have hit another Saudi tanker, Wafaa, with ballistic missiles earlier that day off the coast of Yanbu.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the attack 'achieved its objective' and forced the vessel to turn back. The group describes this as their 'blockade for blockade' strategy, indicating a continued escalation in tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi authorities have not commented on either claim, leaving the accuracy of the attacks unclear.
