Houthis Target Saudi Aramco Sites Amid Yemen Escalation
Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for strikes on Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh and Khurais, as clashes between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces escalate in the region. The attacks, carried out with ballistic missiles and drones, were described as a response to Saudi Arabia's ongoing military campaign in Yemen. Houthi spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the operations successfully caused fires at the targeted sites.
Saree accused Saudi Arabia of intensifying its aggression against Yemen, with 50 air and missile strikes in the past 12 hours alone, bringing the total to 1,460 since the recent escalation began. The Houthi spokesman vowed to continue targeting Saudi military and oil facilities until what he described as the aggression against Yemen ends and the siege is lifted.
The Houthis announced two specific attacks: one targeting Aramco in Riyadh and another in the Khurais area. Saree claimed both operations achieved their objectives, emphasizing that the strikes were precise and caused significant damage. The group threatened further escalation, maintaining a policy of 'siege for siege and escalation for escalation' until their demands are met.
