Hungary's Minister of Economy and Energy Istvan Kapitany announced plans to end Russian gas imports by October 2027. The country is seeking alternative sources, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) suppliers.

Kapitany noted that Hungary has existing cross-border infrastructure and multiple supply routes, which will ensure its gas supplies are secured next October.

The minister emphasized that the situation remains difficult to predict, but developments so far suggest that Hungary can meet its gas demand through alternative sources.
