Iran Stops Togo-Flagged Tanker in Strait of Hormuz
A Togo-flagged oil tanker named 'Trend' has been targeted and stopped in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement released by the IRGC Navy. The statement claims that the vessel attempted to transit the strait illegally at the instigation of the US military.
The IRGC Navy asserts that its personnel have been maintaining a presence in the area for '200 consecutive nights', firmly controlling the vital waterway and preventing any aggressor from passing through it.
Following the incident, the tanker reportedly came to a complete stop after being struck and catching fire. The IRGC Navy has reiterated its warning that illegal passage through the Strait of Hormuz will result in destruction for the offending vessel.
