i-80 Gold's Granite Creek Underground Project Sees Robust Economics in Feasibility Study
i-80 Gold Corp. (NYSE: IAUX) (TSX: IAU) has announced the results of its feasibility study for the Granite Creek Underground gold project in northern Nevada, USA.
The project is expected to produce between 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of gold in 2026 and has a mine life of approximately 8.5 years (LOM). At a base case gold price of $2,750/oz, the total undiscounted after-tax cash flow is $153 million with an after-tax NPV(5%) of $118 million.
The study highlights increased production rates and longer mine life compared to the preliminary economic assessment (PEA) published in March 2025. The project's optimized processing strategy involves refractory and oxide ores being processed by a third-party until mid-2027, followed by stockpiling prior to commissioning of the Lone Tree autoclave and carbon-in-leach plant.
Richard Young, President & CEO, stated that the Granite Creek Underground Feasibility Study outlines robust project economics based on a significantly expanded mineral resource base. The company expects the project to be a key source of feed for its wholly owned Lone Tree autoclave and carbon-in-leach processing plant for many years.
The study's results include:
- Initial Proven and Probable Mineral Reserves of 2.20 million tonnes grading 7.87 grams per tonne gold containing 556,500 ounces of gold.
- Measured and Indicated underground Mineral Resources increased by 229% to 3.73 Mt grading 7.17 g/t Au containing 859,500 oz Au.
