IGC Raises Global Grain Production Estimate Amid Black Sea Disruptions

The International Grains Council (IGC) has raised its estimate for global grain production in 2026/27 to 2.42 billion tons, a 3% decline from last season's record.

This forecast increase of 4 million tons comes as disruptions to Black Sea exports continue to slow down global wheat flows.

The IGC also revised its estimate for global grain trade, which is now expected to reach 451 million tons, a decrease from the 467 million tons seen in the previous season.

Despite these revisions, forecasts for wheat and corn production, trade, and consumption remain below last year's record levels.
