India and Mauritius Ink Oil and Gas Cooperation MoU

India and Mauritius have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the oil and gas sector. The agreement was signed on August 20, 2026, by Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, and John Michaël Tzoun Sao Yeung Sik Yuen, Mauritius Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection.

The MoU is a Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement that aims to enhance cooperation in the oil and gas sector between India and Mauritius. This includes discussions on energy resilience and bilateral strategic ties.

Alongside the MoU, Indian Oil Corporation and the State Trading Corporation of Mauritius signed a five-year sales and purchase agreement for the supply of petrol, diesel, marine gas oil, and Aviation Turbine Fuel.
