India Raises Ceiling Price for Difficult-Field Gas to $9.89/MMBtu

The government of India has raised the ceiling price for natural gas produced from deepwater, ultra-deepwater, and high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) fields to $9.89 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).

This new ceiling will apply to technically challenging offshore resources, including the KG-D6 block in the Krishna-Godavari basin operated by Reliance Industries and BP.

The revised price is up from $8.90 per MMBtu and will remain in effect until March 31, 2027.
