India Reviewing Wheat Export Quota Amid Utilization Assessment
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has initiated a review of the wheat export quota for India. The move aims to assess the utilization of quantities already allocated and determine further allocation needs.
The review is based on Trade Notice No. 18/2026-27, which was issued on August 10, 2026. Exporters who received authorization for wheat exports under Public Notices No. 49/2025-26 and No. 05/2026-27 are required to submit a utilization certificate by August 26, 2026.
The DGFT has also asked exporters to intimate their requirement for additional quantities of wheat or surrender any unutilized quota. Requests must be supported by valid export contracts or purchase orders and submitted through email by August 31, 2026.
