Gold prices in India have seen a significant increase, crossing ₹1.55 lakh per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and moving closer to ₹1.60 lakh in some major cities.

The latest data from Bullion.co.in reported by NDTV Profit shows that the India-level 24K gold price stood at ₹1,58,390 per 10 grams, while 22K gold was priced at around ₹1,45,191 per 10 grams.

According to city-wise rates, Chennai recorded the highest 24K rate among major cities at ₹1,58,560 per 10 grams, with Hyderabad following at ₹1,58,350 and Bengaluru at ₹1,58,230. Delhi remained the lowest, with a 24K rate of ₹1,57,830 per 10 grams.

The price increase is attributed to several factors, including US monetary-policy expectations, Treasury yields, and broader global economic uncertainty. Gold has also benefited from its traditional safe-haven status as investors seek protection against market and geopolitical risks.
